ISLAMABAD, MAR 12 – Forty-four regional offices of the Allama Iqbal Open University (AIOU) will be upgraded with digital transformation to ensure provision of efficient services to the University’s 1.4 million registered students.
This was decided at the regional directors’ conference that was held on Tuesday through video conferencing.
While announcing a road-map on the occasion for the University’s future development, Vice Chancellor Professor Dr. Zia-Ul-Qayyum said that the target, ‘access to education for All will be achieved through the smart use of new technology and bringing about qualitative improvement in overall admission, examination and delivery system.
In introducing and implementing the new academic programs, the guidelines and set criteria of the Higher Education Commission will be strictly adhered to, he added.
It was a five-hour long interactive conference that was participated by Deans and Heads of various academic and services departments.
Various proposals were discussed during the meeting to improve the administrative and financial matters of the University and strengthening the regional offices, which the Vice Chancellor said are their backbone in providing best possible services to the masses through distance learning system.
